This tag can be used in the skeletons templates to generate news or in the sections to provide short summaries of articles, for news new items , etc... . , typically on the home page or in sections<

Beware : If you have another plugin defining the function balise_INTRODUCTION() or if you have defined it in your templates, you will get a compilation error.

@puce@ You can specify (as a percentage of the default value) the length of the text generated by the tag #INTRODUCTION. A null value, or a value equal to 100 will not modify anything and uses the following default values : 500 characters for the articles, 300 for the news items and 600 for forums or sections. [1]

@puce@ By default, if the text is too long, #INTRODUCTION will end with 3 dots (an ellipsis) : <html>"  >" (…)". You can change this to a customised string which indicates that there is more text available. [2]

@puce@ If the #INTRODUCTION tag is used to give a summary of an article, the Swiss Army Knife can generate a link to the article for the 3 dots or string that indicates that there is more text available. For example : "Read more…" [the  (…)" id="nh3">3]
